Our delivery service
The British Consulate-General in Madrid returns passports and birth/death registration certificates to customers via DHL. We process all correct applications within 10 working days from receipt. If you apply in person in Madrid, you can collect your passport and other documents in person from the Consulate-General in Madrid.
Once your passport is ready for despatch, the DHL employee at the British Consulate-General Madrid will call you to arrange delivery and provide you with your tracking number which can be used to consult DHL's on-line tracking service. In addition to guaranteed and secure delivery, the service gives you immediate access to despatch information, either:
- on-line, by entering your DHL shipping number in DHL's on-line tracking service or;
- by emailing the DHL employee at the British Consulate-General Madrid britishconsulate@dhl.com with your DHL shipping number.
Please ensure your full postal address is clearly marked on your application form. It is essential that you fill out the DHL form attached to the credit card payment form. This will ensure that your new passport, certificates and any original documents submitted in support of your application are returned to you without delay. The address you provide on this form is where your documents will be sent.
There must be someone at the delivery address you provide. If you live in an area which is not easily accessible, please indicate an alternative address (if possible, a business address). Please note that we cannot deliver to PO boxes ("apartados" or "caixas postais").
It is important that you provide as much contact information as possible to enable DHL to contact you quickly and arrange delivery. Please provide a mobile number, a landline and email address. This is essential as the courier will need to contact you. Please advise us of anything that may affect delivery when you submit your application.
