Customers in Spain

• Passport enquiries

Customers in Spain can call a Spanish Premium Rate number or a UK telephone number (which will be charged to a credit card). All calls will be handled by Careline Services. The Spanish Premium Rate number is 807 450 051. You will first hear a short announement in Spanish, and then be able to speak to an advisor. You can call between 09:00 and 18:00, local time, Monday to Friday. Calls are charged at 1.16 Euros per minute. Calls made from a mobile phone may be subject to additional charges. Please check with your mobile phone company.

If you prefer to pay by credit card, please call +44 (0) 208 082 4734 between 09:00 and 18:00, local time, Monday to Friday. Calls are charged at GBP 0.69 per minute. (Telephone service providers will also charge for the cost of the international call so applicants may like to check their provider's tarrif). Please ensure that you have your credit card details ready before calling.

For customers with hearing difficulties, a Textphone service is available by contacting +44 (0) 1750 725 368. This is a credit card payment service, charged at the same rate as above.

• Birth & death registration

Please call the British Consulate-General in Madrid on 91 714 6400, Monday to Friday from 15:00 to 16:00.

Customers in Portugal can call +44 (0) 208 082 4734 between 09:00 and 18:00, local time, Monday to Friday. Calls are charged at GBP 0.69 per minute for the duration of the call. (Telephone service providers will also charge for the cost of the international call so applicants may like to check their provider's tarrif).
