Road travel

• we advise British lorry drivers of the strict control by Spanish Police in the north of Spain, particularly in the Basque Country. The fines related to tachometer and other irregularities are very severe and must be paid in cash on the spot or by bank transfer. The transfer can be made directly or through the haulier's Spanish agent or representative if they have one. Once payment is made, the vehicle will be free to continue its journey. The form for appeal will accompany the receipt.
